Process

Students will each assume a role in the project. (See Role 1, 2 or 3 for specifics). Students will research the Civil War and Reconstruction years. You will gather facts, dates, information, pictures, maps, articles, artwork, etc. Together, your team will organize and arrange the data into a timeline format. The final arrangement should be 10 ft in length (to fit into the complete timeline project at the City Administration Building). The timeline itself should run landscape on traditional 8 1/2 x 11" paper. Supporting visual aides should project above or below the timeline for additional display space. (see example format below). Visual aide A could be in late 1851, while visual aide B could be from early 1851. Projects must conform with this format to be consistent throughout the entire timeline display "Our Country: Beginning through the Present". Your team will be responsible for dropping off the completed project to your teacher Mrs. Fish, one week before the due date (by 11/19/07) for laminating. The project should then be picked up from Mrs. Fish by 11/27/07. And arrangements should be made with her to come in and hang the finished product on display.
